Name: Dericole Larkspur

Backstory: Raised in Pacifidlog Town, Dericole lived with her father and her father's pokemon, Flareon, which he obtained from a relative in Fallabor Town. The people of her town were familiar with several wild pokemon, pokemon who had befriended the villagers and helped with daily tasks and chores. The Corsola who kept the town afloat, the Wingull who delivered mail, and a Breloom who cut new logs to size and helped expand the town. Dericole grew up surrounded by many types of pokemon, and someday dreamed of having her own. She was over joyed one day when her father's Flareon had laid an egg and she was told the baby would be her first pokemon.

Not too much later, a massive storm approached the city due to a quarrel between Kyogre and Groudon, or so it is believed. The tiny town, built only of logs and supported by Corsola, swayed harshly in the crushing waves. The pokemon friends of the town all did their part to help, guiding the townsfolk to a nearby island. The winds whipped through, waves crushing the pathways board by board. Dericole's home was beginning to shift loose from the town to be swept away by the storm. She clung to her egg tightly, wishing the storm would die down, until a Breloom came to her aid and carried her from the wreck. She was reunited with her father, thanks to that Breloom. After the storm died down, they began to look for lost family and friends, Including her father's Flareon. Flareon was never found.

Years later, Dericole left town to start her own pokemon journey with her very first pokemon, Connor the Eevee. She knew she'd be battling Gyms eventually, it was her goal after all to get as many badges as possible. But her first priority was familiarizing herself with the rest of the world outside her humble village. She figured, with many pokemon from different regions, she'd have the advantage in the battlefield. Dericole and Connor traveled through Hoenn, Johto and eventually Kanto, making new friends along the way!

Dericole is very attached to her pokemon, especially Connor. She is innovative and plays to her pokemon's strengths just the way they are, rather than having over-powered pokemon for the sake of winning. She can be indecisive at times, especially when it comes to evolving Connor.


Pokemon

Connor: (Hasty Nature) Dericole's first pokemon and most loyal. Connor is a fluffball of energy and always ready to take on a challenge. Because of his loyalty and devotion to Dericole as well as his Adaptability, Return is his most powerful attack. He can be jealous of other pokemon if Dericole is paying enough attention to them, but he's slowly learning the value of teammates has he grows. Connor looks up to Lipton, hoping to someday be as strong and as fast as him.

Lipton: (Serious Nature) Years ago, Lipton was faced with a hard choice. Let go of the Flareon being pulled by the current of the storm while the deck underneath him crumbled, or watch as a little girl and flareon's egg were swept away along with half the town. Flareon urged him, let go of her and save the girl and her baby.

Maybe if he had been faster, stronger, he could have saved all of them. He left the village on the water and traveled the pokemon world, looking for new ways to test his speed and strength. To train himself never to fail again. Since that day he had taken a vow of silence. He does not utter a single "looom!" to humans, nor does he communicate with any pokemon.

As fate would have it, Lipton crossed paths with Dericole and Connor in Lavender Town of Kanto. Lipton felt nothing but guilt looking at the young Eevee, blaming himself for the death of his mother. Dericole was overjoyed to see Lipton again, he saved her after all! Lipton was initially going to go his separate way, but it was Umeko who convinced him to travel with Dericole and her team. Who knows, the Gym Leaders might actually prove useful to his training!

Lipton is easily the strongest pokemon on Dericole's team, and only because he did all of the training himself.

Umeko: (Timid Nature) Umeko was given to Dericole by an elderly woman in Lavender Town, who claims Umeko is very special. Not only is she shiny, but she also has the ability to converse with humans and pokemon alike telepathically. Using her ability, she is the only one who knows exactly what happened during the storm and she constantly implores Lipton to speak to Connor about it. Or at least let her tell Dericole how much guilt he carries from the event. Umeko is quiet and sleeps most of the time, but she is very clever when she needs to be.

Pheobe: (Modest Nature) Dericole's second pokemon ever, Pheobe has proved useful because of her two HM moves, Surf and Waterfall. Dericole has never been put off by Pheobe's tattered appearance, though she does hope to evolve her into a Milotic. Someday...

Pudge: (Lax Nature) Pudge is a very lazy pokemon. He sleeps a lot of the time and doesn't do much else. The only time he does wake up is when he is coaxed awake with food, which works splendidly because of his keen sense of smell.

Willow: (Lonely Nature) Aside from Lipton, Willow is Dericole's most trained pokemon. Dericole figured Willow was so unique that some trainers might not have a strategy against it's Wonder Guard ability. With Shadow Sneak as a priority move, along with Double Team and Toxic, Dericole is quite proud of herself with this pokemon and it's moveset.</sub>
